What is the Nordic Fitness Park Appenzellerland
The Nordic Fitness Park Appenzellerland comprises of seven Nordic Fitness Centres. The individual centres are linked together by Nordic Walking Connector Trails. The result is a complete network of trails with about 350 kilometres of clearly signposted Nordic Walking Trails – a real paradise for any and every Nordic Walker.

What is a Nordic Fitness Centre
A Nordic Fitness Centre is a location which has made a speciality of catering for the needs and interests of Nordic Walkers. Each Centre offers three signposted Nordic Walking Circuit Trails with varying levels of challenge. In each of the locations there is at least one Nordic Fitness Hotel which caters specifically for your requirements. In addition, there is a pro sports shop on site or close by locally which carries the specialised equipment and offers professional advice and guidance. Trained instructors are able to offer training courses or to accompany you if you so wish, and to assist you if required.

This is what is offered at the Starting Point
The Starting Point is both the start and the finish of the three local circular Walking trails, and is identified by an information board which gives a lot of useful information about the Centre and the circular trails. Also at the Starting Point: courses can be booked, sticks and pulse rate bracelets can be leased, personal belongings can be stored, and there are facilities for showering and changing after completing your Nordic Walking.

Description of the Nordic Walking Signposts
The Nordic Fitness Park Appenzellerland is the first Nordic Fitness Park in Switzerland which has been signposted with the official Swiss Nordic Walking sign markers. All the Nordic Walking Routes lie on official rambling trails. Thus, the rambling trail markers can be used as additional confirmation and orientation on the trails.
