High up on a sunny terrace overlooking Lake Constance lies the «Biedermeier» village of Heiden, nestling in the hills of the Appenzell Vorderland. It makes an excellent starting point for walks to various different attractions. Henry Dunant, the founder of the Red Cross, also valued the tranquillity and the landscape of this village of 4000 souls. Fascinating guided tours in German through the «Biedermeier» village of Heiden from May to mid-October 2010 every other Tuesday at 10 am. Tours start from the Dunant memorial.
