Appenzellerland for families – 12 hours

1. DISCOVER LAURA’S FAVOURITE PLACES

Start your day in Gais and embark on a very special tour of discovery (yellow line on the overview map). Laura the goat takes the visitors to her favourite sheds and places in this little paradise between the Alpstein massif and Lake Constance. Linger at the idyllic Gäbrisseeli bog lake and enjoy the sweeping views over the unique hilly landscape.

2. FUN AND GAMES

Plan a short stop on your hike in Unter Gäbris (green dot on the overview map).

While you enjoy the sunshine and delicious food on the garden terrace, children can let off steam on the variety of playground equipment.

3. UP-CLOSE ANIMAL ENCOUNTERS

The petting farm (red dot on the overview map) is just a 15-minute walk from Gais train station. Home to goats, peacocks, chickens, tortoises, fish, crayfish, degus, poison dart frogs, dogs and cats – this is the place to encounter a wide variety of animals up close and learn more about working with animals, the great outdoors and life on the farm.

4. Erlebnis Waldegg

What, your children want to see more animals? Then set off on the 15-minute drive to the Erlebnis Waldegg in Teufen (blue dot)! This is a true children’s paradise, with everything from food and drink, fun and games to a petting zoo and home-made ice cream.
