Appenzellerland for nature lovers – 48 hours

Shortly after you leave Heiden on the hiking trail, the most spectacular section of the entire hike is at your feet: The crossing of the suspension bridge. 2. DISCOVER HEIDEN FROM ABOVE (1 HR)

With full bellies and a head crammed full of knowledge, the tour continues to the “Häädler” church tower (brown dot on the overview map). Climb 157 steps to the top room, from where you can enjoy sweeping views over Lake Constance and far beyond into Germany and Austria.

3. TIME TO UNWIND (3 HRS)

This evening is dedicated to relaxation and wellness. Once a traditional sulphurous spa for bathing cures, today the Appenzeller Heilbad (blue dot on the overview map) is a modern complex of thermal baths and saunas. Enjoy the soothing effect of the warm spring water at this traditional institution.
