Appenzell Peace Stations

Following the life’s work of important humanitarians

The Appenzell Peace Stations cordially invite you on a voyage of discovery through the Appenzeller Vorderland. They show the life’s work of important Swiss humanitarians: Jakob Künzler, Carl Lutz, Margrit Besmer and Willi Kobe, Paul Vogt, Gertrud Kurz, Catharina Sturzenegger, Theodosius Florentini, Carl “Bö” Böckli and Henry Dunant. Each station is dedicated to the life and work of one of these individuals.
The hike to the Appenzell Peace Stations between Heiden and Walzenhausen is also suitable for families. The route leads over hollows and through ravines with inclines, but they are never very long. The trail is easy to do in any weather – even in winter.
