A short circular route for those who want to pack a lot into a short amount of time
Would you like to see and experience as much as possible on a short route? Then the short Vorderland circuit is just the thing. The starting point for this route is Heiden. Soon you’ll be immersed in idyllic surroundings that present you with all the beauty of the Appenzeller Vorderland. Follow the minor roads and country lanes through Bischofsberg and the hamlet of Nasen until you reach charming Rehetobel. From there it is still a short climb to the summit of Kaienspitz. Enjoy the beautiful panorama here, which stretches from the city of St. Gallen, over Lake Constance to the Säntis massif and the Appenzell region. The small Vorderland circuit finishes with a descent back down to Heiden.

Parking is available at the church tower in Heiden (charges apply). Day tickets for these parking spaces can be obtained from the Tourist Information office in Heiden and cost CHF 5.
