RUIN, VINEYARDS AND ABBEY

In Walzenhausen village winter meets spring: in the valley the snow has gone and a mild breeze is blowing, while the hills are still white. The hike, partially across St. Gallen soil, is very varied. It leads to a ruin from the 15th century and past vineyards, and then verges into Innerrhoden with the convent of Grimmenstein. Above all, it offers sweeping vistas of Lake Constance, the Rhine Valley and beyond.
