Right at the beginning, the expedition into the Urnäsch-Tobel requires some courage. The rock faces are narrow and steep, and several times you have to jump over a threshold to get further. From Seien on, the river becomes wilder, but also easier to negotiate. However, climbing skills are still required and you have to conquer challenging passages. Only after the Auenlochsteg does the gorge become easy and you can relax.
